A 1-3 day workshopDue to globalisation managers are increasingly involved in strategic discussions with subsidiaries, parent companies, or partners abroad.These discussions usually take place in English, and language and cultural differences can often be a barrier to reaching common understanding.Strategic Workshops provide a forum for reviewing and developing strategy with an external facilitator. The workshops also serve to encourage international teamwork and understanding between different parts of an organisation.
Workshops normally focus on the company's own products and markets, but case studies can also be used.
Who is it for?
- Strategic Workshops are for groups (4 - 12) of international managers who need to discuss and develop strategy with overseas partners.
- Participants should have reasonably good English communication skills
Methods
- Under the guidance of the facilitator, the participants work in groups to analyse the company's business and competitive environment, identify driving forces and core competences and develop strategies to achieve competitive advantage.
- They can then go on to develop a mission statement and strategic and operational goals. Marketing oriented groups can go on to review product strategies, positioning and the marketing mix.
- Throughout the workshop, groups present their results to their colleagues and get feedback from the facilitator who resolves any conflicts that arise.
Where and when?
